To master the game you have to understand it. Which is why the USA will never get above the level they're currently at. Unless they throw money at foreigners who do understand it(suppose they already are, but not enough for a complete overhaul of the infrastructure that would be needed. So someone is uncultured and without a passport because they don't like soccer? No, you're just another snob liberal cac elitist.
Soccer itself is not a difficult sport to play. So long as you have rudimentary ball control, which one can develop between 0-14 years, soccer itself is easy to get into. The problem is mastering the game, which is true of all sports. Soccer, however, requires less raw size/speed than other sports.
And i don't mean understanding the offside rule or what constitutes a foul. The tactical nuances involved are incredible.
I accept NFL playbooks etc are hard. But once you got your plays down you're set, it's just about execution. It's a robotic game for robotic athletes. And don't give me the stuff about audibles etc it's much the same.
There's only so many ways NFL teams can set up. As mentioned their are actual PLAY BOOKS.
There are literally thousands and thousands of tactical nuances in Football that take incredible footballing intelligence to grasp. You don't get that by kicking a ball in a slum in Brazil, you get that via coaching and education.
It's when you can sort of grasp and begin to understand these things, that takes football from a game of soft guys falling on the floor to the beautiful game.
The Worlds Game.
