Why is soundcloud only letting me hear the first 30 seconds of a song now?

Please tell me this isn't the beginning of the end. I just went on a few of their pages and they won't go past like 30 seconds now. like I gotta subscribe in order to hear the rest????

Because it's monetized. Not all are like that. Remixes are normally free game

Thats only for a few songs.

The vast majority of songs on SoundCloud are still available to listen to in full for free.

Some artists need that extra money, especially now that monthly services basically only pays them pennies per play after everyone gets their cut.
