WHY IS TECH N9NE NOT RESPECTED?

i'm a big fan, have been since 98 but i get why a lot of cats don't like him. usually it comes down to the image btu i can see why some don't like the beats or whatever. i don't understand how anyone could hate on his flow or skills in general as an MC tho. if they don't like I'mma Tell or Come Gangsta then they probably not going to be a Tech fan outside of a few songs.

Basically he is an underground rapper with a massive following, but a lot of his fans are of the other persuasion, so there is that. Plus he doesn't do alot of promotion for his albums. So alot of times its not known that he is dropping music.

the last few weeks he's been all over Sway & hot97 & all those kind of radio shows, talking about his new album. he's had videos out, leaked 3 songs from the album months ago and other songs leading up to the release. most of his promotion is targeted towards people who are already fans i suppose.

i've had enough of so many features tho, i want his next album to be 10-15 songs, none or less than 5 features except Krizz Kaliko on hooks. or do an album with a star studded production line up instead of the MC features.

Didn't hear him on Sway, but Sirius is not exactly like free radio and Hot 97 is just one market.

I wasn't listening or checking. Perhaps you know about of this because your a fan and you made a point to check. I head him on a few places. he did Lord Sear interview or something like that.........that was all I heard.

The coli really only fukks with industry rappers. That being said hes got more money and respect than the vast majority of those nikkas...and hes got a couple alright songs. That's the thing about tech you can't be a casual fan you have to join the cult...its a gift and a curse

Let's put this to bed real quick. Tech Nine isn't more popular because of his fans. And I don't mean that from the "They're all juggalos" type perspective. A significant portion of his fans have always been the type to attack someone's taste in music the instant that you say you don't love all of his work. Trying to force feed an artist to someone that most can agree is an acquired taste is sure way to get you and that artist called corny.

For the record, I think dude is alright, but I can never listen to a full album from him, especially his current work. From what I've heard, he's fallen into the long running rapper trap of using the same types of deliveries/flows too often. There's a reason most people write him off as just a speed rapper.
