also outside of the very big franchises for movies and shows, a lot of good stuff just flies under the radar these days. i’ve seen really good shows only get a couple pages for a season in their threads. i guess that’s just how things are with all the different streaming platforms.

honestly thought maybe House of Gucci would've had a more replied to thread given the director and cast.
The resident evil reboot was somewhat busy before the movie dropped...then after the trailers, nothing...lol (although I can see why...they fukked around with characters (specifically ONE character)...).

It wasn't a big hit, it did like $330 mill on a $110 mill budget.
6 pages for a movie that probably didn't even break even isn't surprising.

It came out when the pandemic was roaring back up and it was released in conjunction with other major franchise films and managed to hold its own with low 2nd-3rd week drop offs. $330 doesn't sound too special but it kind of is in a way, since it wasn't based on any existing IP and people didn't have any other legal way of seeing it, so they went to the theater. It might even finish out the year as one of the top 10 highest grossing films of 2021.
I mean, all that sounds cool in relation to why the movie might actually be a success in pandemic terms....but it wasn't a success over all which translated into the thread not doing numbers.
Generally speaking, movies that do numbers = bigger threads.
