Why is the finals MVP trophy nicer than the regular season MVP trophy?

I don't really care about the MVP trophy, regular or playoff. At the professional level, you are getting paid to play, and you just throw that MVP trophy in your case. You really care about how much money you earn in your contract and business endorsements, and make sure your agent is looking out for you.
At the amateur level, MVP means more because you did the best in your league or team and weren't paid for it.

Not really, MVP puts you in the history books. These dudes are earning way more than magic and Jordan ever did, mid tier players, but they won't be remembered nor have the hardware. Everything ain't dollars and cents when you actually care about being great.

No one cares about the MVP. You are either a superstar or you aren't a superstar of the regular season or the playoffs. That's what people remember.
If you have to go online or to a book to look up who was the MVP, then you didn't make waves. Five years from now, no one is going to remember the 2015 playoff MVP. And six years from now, no one is going to remember this year's MVP.

Because it is the real MVP trophy.

Finals MVP is for the player who performed the best based on stats.

Regular season MVP is for whoever the TMZ / ESPN crowd likes the most.
