Why is the industry pushing Chance The Rapper on us?

This guy is getting Grammys, doing major performances, getting looks from Jay, Beyonce, Etc.. meanwhile I can't name one song from dude. I'm just curious as to how this all started. Did I miss something? Did he pop off from a meme or dance and I'm just late? Fill me in

You can pretty much say this about any type of hip-hop being made right now as long as it's an artist you don't like.

I've seen the same "it appeals to white hipster bloggers" excuse used on Drill as I have for suburban safe rappers.

Was just about to say the same thing and use the often lobbed phrase around here 'pitchfork cac' when people are complaining about negative rap music thats seemingly being pushed on us like chance is.
