I lived in South Africa...I am just relating my experience, but I understand the USA evolved a little differently...
she's 1/4 black. the only black to her is the 25% she gets from her african-canadian granddad. she don't even look black or like a light skin black person. her hair is not even close to that of a black person, so r=g cant say she'll be seen as black when she gets older

Seen plenty of Asians and Latinos/Latinas with VERY similiar hair to Blacks. And she looks like a light skinned mixed Black girl...I grew up with those chicks every fukking day in San Diego. Get real Blasian girls had ALOT of self esteem issues but they were pretty as fukk.

This is what's so crazy about race in North America.
The Obama daughters can't claim team mixed even though they have an identifiable white grandparent, yet Halle Berry's kid or Paula Patton's kid will be able to claim mixed or black even though they are 75% white.
Here you have this mulatto kid trying to tell a black person what is and isn't black.
Here you have a mulatto kid upset about a biracial man having an israeli kid play his son.
Yet he strangely doesn't want to accept that mulatto is not black.

yes, my dad is black. that's not the issue, though. you say i'm mixed. i argue, within the fabric of life of in america, i am and can only be seen as a black man. i'm not treated like a "mixed" man. i am treated like a "black" man. and i'm PROUD of that. you act as if i'm clinging to something that is not of mine to take ownership of. i am black, and my experience is that of a black man. when i look in the mirror, i look at a black man. i don't look at a "mulatto" or "mixed" man. i look at a man who, since a young child, has been treated by this society as a black person. and that's how i live my life.
