The foundation of the South as it currently exists is rooted in a BLATANT disregard toward any authority conducting itself toward Southerners as if they know what's best for Southerners. Data, facts, etc. be damned.

They are just naturally inclined for rebellion unless one of "theirs" said it. They seem to value to messenger over the message, and down there political/party lines hold more loyalty than some family.

I’ve been living down south for almost 20 years now. Nobody wants to say it but I will, the South is dropping the ball on COVID, because the south is comprised of the stupidest population of citizens in this country. That’s it. Everything else is an after-effect of said stupidity.

Short of making that vaccine mandatory to go in any inside public places there is not much you can do when people still have a “choice” to take it or not take it.

You were never going to get 360 million people on one accord. The federal government probably should have just went ahead and mandated vaccines for everyone as soon as the FDA said it was safe, but they tried/trying to give people a choice.

Had they mandated vaccination, people would have been b*tching just like they are now about wearing a little mask and how it’s infringing on their constitutional rights and all that other bullshyt. These MAGA cacs that really don’t believe in science or anything other Trump further complicates matters.

It's really not that hard to figure out why those states have the most deaths. Those are the most populated states in the country (switch Michigan with New Jersey). Of course, places like Wyoming,Vermont, or Mississippi won't have as many deaths. Now look up per capita and you'd have a better idea of how states are handling Covid.
