UK has a varied music scene that imo grows more organically than anywhere else. Genre bending is commonplace, innovation isn't a dirty word and the cultural make up of the UK allows for a more differential expression. I love US R&B, Hip Hop and jazz but the incessant pillaging of artists and commercialized ethos kinda kills the growth of genres to reach their full potential. The foundation seems to start in the US as far as musical origin but the innovation/evolution seems to come from other places like the UK.
