As far as @mrken12 ideas again who or what decides what the privilege of thread making is? The users? The mods ? The admins? What happens when someone abuses' that privilege again just because yall don't think what they said is "cool" , how long before they can make anymore threads, months?weeks? In my opinion that takes away from the discussion process of a forum

As far as reps go it's just a color and honestly I have yet to see a good poster in red, have you? All the poster's in red which at the end of the day mean's nothing, deserve to be there, and half the people in green got there by rep boosting so..
:usure: You know when someone is abusing thread making privileges by consistently making awful threads or constantly using flame bait. I really wish mods would stop being naive about what the definition of a troll is.

I think it would be a better idea to simply delete TLR permanently than to engage all the craziness suggested in this thread.

Exactly. Someone who gets WPOTY for a section shouldn't be allowed to create threads for that section. Otherwise it's just another meaningless title.

It's just a title for fun, matter of fact that concept of posters of the year was made by the posters not admins

A good example is best posters, its nothing but a popularity contest I've seen dudes win it who were average posters'

The whole best/worst / troll poster's is a matter of personal opinion

Even more so it should not affect your time on this forum, you know why? We have a ignore feature, you see those two poster's that you just mentioned I have not seen a post of there's over a year. Using the ignore features literally take's seconds

So again I ask who are these trolls yall don't want to have access to the site so bad?

Wouldn't be fair to those of us who didn't have to wait a long time to get on,waiting that long or anything more than right away discourages people from wanting to sign up

I still don't understand why yall want the registration process to be harder, is it to stop troll?

And if so what is a troll , someone who doesn't agree with whatever yall think is "cool"? Or someone who joins and doesn't post? Or is it just white folks?

If that's the case then why ban anyone if the the turnaround is so loose? Seems like a formality if the thought is we don't want to discourage people from signing up. No one's asking for a "harder" reg process, just more thorough.

What is a troll? :stopitslime: Someone who's heavily in the red. How heavy? That's up to y'all to decide. Sure, people can get unjustly negged but personally if you're -2000 and sinking, the very least you shouldn't be able to make threads. Is that unreasonable?

Put it this way, you delete TLR and traffic to this site would straight up crash.

No way they are ever going to do that.

Well this discussion started about lurkers then turned into talking about trolls

Trolls are on every forum and I've said it before thecoli is by the far the most lenient forum ive been on PERIOD. I mean even a thread a like this on some forums would get you banned. Abusing any type of message, rep or report system (yea am lookin at at mrken) gets you automatically banned, shoot i got banned from the xbox forurms for making a negative comment about a game.

Bans are used for extreme situations and they work, 99% of ppl when ban are not heard from again, problem is some of you guys want immediate bans on ppl you disagree with . Racist and other abusers of the boards policy are usually banned fairly quickly I've seen it happen and do it might self when the situation allows

As far as the process being more thorough I still havens seen a suggestion that would work in the long run, what stops someone from creating a fake FB profile and then using that to get on here and the trolling? Or from using legit throwaway email address and then trolling? and lastly how is that process fair to someone who signs up new vs someone who has been here for two years already?

Why -2000? why not -1000 or 0 or -10,000? What if there is a thread about a cop killing a black man and someone comes in there and agrees with what the cop did for watever reason and gets automatically negged trained? and this the persons like 10th post only the site in like a week, so they been here for a week and already lose there thread making abilities? As long as there is rep system there is going to be a way to abuse it and thats not fair.

Look there is a deeper motive to what some of yall want here stop kidding yourselves with this whole sites best interest, stopping lukers and trolls :mjlol:yall scared of some boogie white man :russ:

Fair enough

There's no arguments there. Coli is definitely on the more liberal side of the game.

Bans are used for extreme situations and they work, 99% of ppl when ban are not heard from again, problem is some of you guys want immediate bans on ppl you disagree with . Racist and other abusers of the boards policy are usually banned fairly quickly I've seen it happen and do it might self when the situation allows

That's not necessarily the case for me, I know others would have people permed on sight but it's really a case by case basis. My qualms aren't really with bans, but restrictions according to this rep system we have.

There's no 'throwaway' emails associated with your ISP or college, work, etc. emails. Those who are here AFTER the process change are grandfathered in.

Why -2000? why not -1000 or 0 or -10,000? What if there is a thread about a cop killing a black man and someone comes in there and agrees with what the cop did for watever reason and gets automatically negged trained? and this the persons like 10th post only the site in like a week, so they been here for a week and already lose there thread making abilities? As long as there is rep system there is going to be a way to abuse it and thats not fair.

The limit is on y'all. High level negative rep is a feat, let's not act like that happens over night. But to entertain your scenario, Someone joins the Coli and makes a comment that gets hit right away with a neg train. OK, considering that no one positively reps that person, they would need to be hit 200 accounts to lose thread making privileges or 1,000 accounts to hit -10000. King Karim sits at little over -8,000 and admin open restrictions on negs that time. THAT was abuse and it still didn't hit your 10,000. My point is 1. He'd have to say some absurd shyt to get -2,000 in their first week and with that, he only loses thread making rights. No bans. Plus there's a chance of gaining that right back.

So is your argument it'll be abused either way so why change it? because that slippery slope fallacy doesn't work. Post the question to the forum "should heavy red members get thread restrictions" and see if people will have objections to that.

Look there is a deeper motive to what some of yall want here stop kidding yourselves with this whole sites best interest, stopping lukers and trolls :mjlol:yall scared of some boogie white man :russ:

I feel like this doesn't really pertain to me. :yeshrug: if it does, please elaborate.

In my opinion, the fastest way to a kill a forum is post requirement in order to view a section. I've seen forums go down the toilet whenever they do that bull crap. Do I really need a 1000 post just to view some ass and titties? :comeon:
