Why is uncharted so loved ?

Breh, I'm an Xbot through and through. That said, even I have to come clean with this series and after every game, I'm giving it the because its over before I wanted it to be. I play adventure games for the experience and story, Uncharted's storyline is god-tier breh

I never been a fan for the game and dropped the first one almost halfway in. Decided to play the 4th one and it's ok, but not worthy of this universal acclaim.

It's just platforming and shooting. A lot more platforming than shooting. The enemies offer no variety. It's the same regular goons and then one type that can't be melee'd right away and a sniper. You just pick up guns on the go with no real difference. There appears to be no discernible difference in reload time, recoil, and etc or stats to show you improvement in guns. There is no upgrade or customization during the campaign to make you change your experience and feel you improved things as you go. There is no point to exploring the granted beautiful world created because all you get is little treasures that just equate to bonus currency for features after you complete the game. You might run into a gold gun if you stray off the main path but that isn't worth it. This game just appears to be very very shallow.

Honestly I enjoyed the last gen tomb raider that came out way better. Same kinda game but it did all the things uncharted lacked. I look forward to the recent one when it gets on PS4.

the latest tomb raider had horrible shooting....the aiming and sketchy 30fps pales in comparison to uncharted. It actually kept me from beating the game....told myself ill wait for the ps4 version to drop and hope for better aiming polish. The latest tomb raider was a step down to me gameplay wise.

I've played and beat 1-3. The newest one for some reason I've only played like 3 hrs and I bought on day 1

For all extents and purposes. Nathan seems like a pretty chill ass dude that one could kick it with and have your back

Likes chasing (hustling) for money
Down for his homies and with the shyts if the situation gets out of hand
His quips and jokes are average to funny
Lies to his wife from time to time
Pretty smart to put together all those archaeological clues
Never comes off as a whiny bytch, just a dude that bout his paper and he'll risk life and death to get it.

Seriously speaking, Shambhala in Uncharted 2 aside, the stories aren't all that unbelievable.

After beating tomb raider I actually crave to play uncharted now, I just absolutely hate the ps controller and PSN, uncharted has it's place and it's deserved

You over doing it , lets not act like they are really worlds apart.

I get you guys are talking about the cinematic quality of the game and voice acting and character personality. That's all an good but we not talking about a movie here. I find value in all those things but the actual gameplay and such is dull. It's not a terrible game but it's not this great genre defining experience either. I acknowledge it's strengths such as graphics, voice acting, characters. But the dull shooting, lack of enemy variety, lack luster puzzling, the lack of any significant character changes between beginning and end, no benefit to exploration of the world. I'm not asking for a game to have RPG elements but I do find value in having the character progress with the story in many ways, it is an adventure. I liked TLOU and it's similar but had more of the immersive elements to it. We can go on about this but it seems this game is carried off of legacy and prettiness of set pieces vs.. actual things about the game. To me it feels like a great coat of polish over a mediocre at best game. Apparently this is not an uncommon gripe about the game.

Uncharted is like some of those 2000s Neptunes beats. At the time they were hot but in the distant future people will go back and revisit them and be like "this isn't what I thought it was."

The Last of Us is light years ahead of Uncharted when it comes to quality.
