His idea for Roman was to fill in for John Cena. And he wanted to do it ASAP. Fans rejected his initial push and Vince wasn't able to get his way the first go around.
Now it's personal.
To turn Roman heel and have him follow the same path 99% of top guys before him followed en route to their run on top is to concede that he needs more build and the fans win.
Vince isn't going to concede to you and will go down swinging with Roman in tow before holding off on the baby face push he's wanted since Rollins nailed The Shield in the back with that chair. It's his sandbox, he simply let's you sit in it.
Vince will sooner force Roman into the Sheamus/Del Rio vaccum by April '16 before he concedes he rushed it with him because to do that means he lost a war that he has been waging with those who rejected his deposit back in January.

You're right. Heels get cheered by the older fans and booed by the younger fans and while that's always been the case to a degree, it seems to be to a much larger degree now which is a weird environment to be in. The only time a heel gets booed by the older crowd now is if he's boring

And I think triple h has spoken on this before, i could be wrong, but how do you have a true heel or face now when your audience is so split and segmented? When not everyone goes along with the show (which they aren't obligated to) then it makes it harder. KO is a heel but he'll get face reactions but he's clearly a heel. Where's your arbiter then? How do you determine who's over in that environment and what direction you need to go in?
Will Roman Reigns ever have a MOMENT this special and invested into? With the way things are going, I just don't see it
Here's a clue..put him against a liked face. They will NOT cheer heel Roman over Ambrose. It won't happen. NO fukkING chance. Girls will screech for him but they won't be having outbursts of cheers for him like with Seth at Rumble 2015 or anything. They TOLD YOU this was the next Cena level guy..fans aren't gonna cheer for that $hit, heel or face.Yup

Agreed, seen some of his interviews and dude is cocky....I feel his promos would be better because of this.

Doesnt matter if they still are. The price tag to run may not be worth the drop in ratings they recieve. WCW ran into some of these issues towards the end also. Vince isnt in charge of his own company anymore. The sponsors, shareholders and the networks own his shyt. He just runs it into the ground. If he wanted to put on a shytty product with no reprocussions, he should have not gone public.
