I hate the whole "if such and such died, they'd be just as big or highly regarded as (insert deceased artist)". It's not only morbid, but it's faulty logic. An artist already has to have a legacy before death to even be held in high regard. We have artists like Jay and Nas who are still breathing that are put up on that pedestal.

thats exactly what I mean. Had dmx died in the prime of his career.

But if X does just after FOMF (not a very good album IMO anyway but people seem to think it's good for the most part) if he does and The Great Depression came out soon after then he still wouldn't be Pac or BIG he'd be more like Pun who had a lacklustre posthumous release

X had a hell of a run... but when it ended, boy did it end. Another thing to consider about Pac and BIG was they were still outdoing themselves when they died. Pac was making the best music of his career, BIG's last recorded verse was fukkin' Victory :whew:... we pretty much heard all of X's best shyt in 1998. Most of what came after that were just updated versions of his best shyt.
