Another dumb as fukk Lebron thread.

There were 33 rookies polled. 7 picked Durant, 6 picked Kobe, 5 picked Lebron.

You seriously think it matters who was 1st, 2nd, or 3rd when you're talking about a sample size so small that there was only a 2-vote difference between 1st and 3rd?

And then Coli posters jumping on it, "Look, Kobe/Durant got 6/7 votes and Lebron only got five! Let's make up meaningless reasons Lebron got 1 or 2 fewer votes than them!"

I swear, ya'all get dumb as fukk whenever Lebron's name comes up.

Quoted for truth.
But this is multiple years in a row now. There is a trend.

lebron has bad footwork and is shaky in the post. young leborn was simply a bulldozer.....and was missing offensive skills.

i'm surprised lebron doesn't have knee problems like derek rose....i figured lebron was 10yr career due to breakdown. lebron's longevity has exceeded by expectations.

I learned in stats that you only need 30+ participants to extrapolate data from a survey..according to that it wouldn't matter if you surveyed 100, 1000, etc. The distribution would be about the same.

Trend? Take the last 4 years and it's all over the map. Durant was 3rd in '12 and '13. There's 27 rookies in the last four years who have Lebron as their favorite player...more than Durant has.

I'm pretty sure no one was saying, "Why isn't Durant more popular among young players?" when Lebron tripled his vote total 3 years ago.

More interesting is that Durant/Kobe/Lebron are pretty much the ONLY guys to get real representation among the rookie classes. Here are the combined vote totals for the last there years (I didn't see a poll for 2012).

Edit - found the 2012 poll, and it turns out that Lebron DOMINATED the vote in that class with 31%, more than Durant/Kobe combined...of course, it's still a tiny number total.

Here are the updated totals for 2012-2015:

Lebron - 27
Kobe - 27
Durant - 24
Dirk - 6
Garnett - 6
Carmelo - 5
Chris Paul - 5
Wade - 5
Harden - 4
Curry - 3
Kawhi - 2
Paul George - 2
Kyrie - 2
Westbrook - 2
Dwight Howard - 2
Tim Duncan - 2
Giannis Antetokounmpo - 1
Jamal Crawford - 1
Steve Nash - 1
Lamar Odom - 1
Monta Ellis - 1
Blake Griffin - 1
Anthony Davis - 1
Marc Gasol - 1
Gay - 1
Vince Carter - 1
Klay - 1
Andrew Bynum - 1
Tyson Chandler - 1
Derrick Rose - 1
J.R. Smith - 1
Amar'e Stoudemire -1
Deron Williams -1

Wait...Westbrook only has TWO votes...just as many as Kawhi? Dwight Howard has as many votes as Tim Duncan? Paul Pierce and Ray Allen never show up at all...but Vince Carter and J.R. Smith do?

Carmelo/Pierce/Curry/Harden/Westbrook/Duncan/Dwight/Rose/Parker/Ray got fewer votes than Lebron combined.

People are legitimately ripping on Lebron for having 2 fewer votes than Durant this year when Westbrook only has 2 votes total in 4 years.

:dahell:

You think that means that if Kobe has a 1 vote lead over Lebron when 30 people are surveyed, he'll maintain that lead if you poll 1000 people?

The margin of error in a sample of 30 people is 18%. The margin of error in a sample of 100 people is 10%. You need over 1000 people sampled to get a margin of error of 3%....which is the difference between Kobe and Lebron in this survey.

Put that in front of any statistics person in the world.

Trend? Even if you combined the last three years together, you're talking about a 5-vote difference TOTAL. That's meaningless. There's still 15 rookies in the last three years who have Lebron as their favorite player.

I'm pretty sure no one was saying, "Why isn't Durant more popular among young players?" when Lebron beat him out by 1 vote 2 years ago.

Kawhi - 2

Kyrie - 2

Lamar Odom - 1
Dwight Howard - 1
Monta Ellis - 1
Blake Griffin - 1
Anthony Davis - 1
Marc Gasol - 1
Gay - 1
Duncan - 1
Vince Carter - 1
Klay - 1

:what:

If you been the best player in the league for arguably 5+ years, 4x MVP, 2x Champ you should have all the rookies on your dikk. It should be lopsided.

Breh...Why is this hard to understand... Take off your rose colored stan glasses for one second and stop typing these furious essays.

I wasn't actually being completely serious, but you did just post the stats for the past 3 years and it came out to be about the same for the top 3, soo..... :patrice:

Complain about people stanning him...while saying that more people should be stanning him. :mjlol:

Ya'all try way too hard. This isn't an MVP vote. You're seriously putting meaning into tiny differences in a poll where 20-year-old kids are picking their favorite player...and some of them are writing fukking Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gay.

They weren't asked who the best player was, or you the most accomplished player was, they're asked who their favorite player was. Of course those answers are going to be all over the map.

And then I post year four, and it completely changes the equation. You see what I mean about sample size? :comeon:

You guys don't even try to live in reality.
Name a great recent one :francis:

I mean, the hardcore basketball fan in me really believes that he's spoiled everyone with his play. But if you were to go around asking people his last GREAT series they'd go back a ways. A long ways. That's what happens when you surround yourself with other stars. You don't shine like you normally would.:yeshrug:
