Never said we were NYC or LA and we don't want to be, but let's be clear about what you tried to do...you tried to play the numbers like Atlanta is a small market, when it's not. It's a top 10 market nationally

And how doesn't it have any selling points: Great history & culture, opportunities in media (music, movies, TV, Turner is based here), tremendous growth in Atlanta, corporate opportunities with sponsors (26 Fortune 500 companies are in Atlanta), you can get to about 80% of the country in 2 hours...Atlanta has great "selling points" the Indianapolis comparison is a joke and you're a joke if you genuinely believe that bullshyt

Literally nothing you said is a reason that any Pro Athlete should consider for reasons they should play sports in Atlanta.

Do your homework: Liar, Liar, Gary Bettman Leaves the Atlanta Thrashers on Fire

Nobody cared about the 1998 Super Bowl Dirty Bird Falcons? Or the 1991 Falcons? Or 1980? Fans care & cared deeply about a team that was chronically mismanaged by Rankin Smith and his family. And yea we've lost in the playoffs in terrible fashion, but how does making it to the playoffs the 4th most times in the NFL since 01 qualify us as awful? :dwillhuh:

Breh you sound like and probably are a hating ass hater :heh: It's cool if you are though but ima keep calling you out when you confuse your twisted logic with reality

So the fact that the Thrashers lost over $100 million in operations means nothing here and we're just supposed to assume that the team was moved when everything was going great when they couldn't even win a playoff game in their entire existence?

I'll give you the 1991 Falcons because they were one of my favorite teams, but the 1998 Falcons were lucky as hell to even be in the Super Bowl in the first place and the 1980 Falcons are only remembered for choking away a double digit lead to the Cowboys with under 5 mins remaining. When the Falcons were bad, they were awful and the fans didn't come out to support the team. I'm not saying the Falcons are awful now, I'm saying that it's sad that this is the pinnacle of their "success"

Trust me, I'm not hating because I want to see the Falcons win a championship and make up for their snakebit history. I'm just saying, there's a reason people have just now started to come out

I hear what you're saying but my thing is: Many players make this their offseason home and if the Hawks were a better franchise I have a hard team seeing a high profile player turn down an offer to play here. BTW, Miami, LA, NY, Houston all hae their share of groupie thots & high profile FAs don't turn them down. I think our problems are more basketball related than anything off the court

Fair points. And they have some validity too. But I’ve heard that very thing out the mouths of pro brehs. Not NBA brehs, but the point is still the same. Used to live off Peachtree on 26th, Bob Sanders had a crash spot in my building, didn’t know the breh like that or nothing but I used to see him around in the game room and at the pool and I chopped it up with him from time to time. And I actually asked breh if he would ever play for the Falcons. He was like he loves the A, but there were too many distractions for him to stay focused, so he could never do it. Patna of mine used to hang with Rod Gardner, legit used to club with this man and kick it in his penthouse in the Buckhead Loop in the regular back in th day. Dude said the same exact thing too. He even said his baby moms told him that there was no way she would let that fly, and it was so bad he used to lie and say he was going somewhere else for the weekend when he came into town. He had to pay the concierge in his building extra just to keep her out, cuz if she found out he was down here she would drive all the way up from Duval just to pull up. Breh I’m telling you breh that shyt is a real factor. Them brehs ain’t gonna say it like that on front street cuz it’s a business at the end of the day. but if you catch them 1 on 1 on the humble they’ll tell you.

ATL…overly

Yea according to you. The most important selling point for any superstar level athlete considering going to a new city is the opportunity to win. Right now the Hawks aren't in that position so id be skeptical of playing for the Hawks if I was a pro baller as well

But as I mentioned earlier, the Hawks are renovating the arena, they have created a beautiful new practice facility that is state of the art and they just broke ground on a new G league facility right next to the airport. Those things are important in attracting and retaining top talent, but o'm sure Indianapolis is getting the same level of investment and resources into the Pacers and Colts

I'm not saying they were a well run organization under the Atlanta Spirit Group. What I'm telling you is that they weren't given a fair shake to succeed here and Commissioner Gary Bettman did not follow through on promises he made to secure a buyer for the City of Atlanta when the ASG went to sell the team. He gave up on the city and franchise, but he went to bat for franchises in Phoenix and Florida and Nashville. The situation was a bad look for everyone involved

Breh they won. :gucci: There was nothing lucky or flukish about it. You say you wanna see the Falcons win yet you constantly discredit their accomplishments

And Vick era tailgates are still the stuff of legend around here, people ain't just start coming out to games, what are you saying? :dwillhuh:

Not enough PAWGS :mjpls:
This. The thread has been made before and people agreed these c00ns want a pawg or a knockoff Kardashian in their bed. They don't care about a city full of young college educated African American dimepieces and stripclubs.
They don't care about black excellence and building together. They chose to go to colleges in the middle of nowhere and were happy to smash raw a bunch of homely looking any Schumer and Lena Dunham looking co-eds. :scust:Every city in America is full of those types of women if you have zero standards so they will be happy playing for any team.

- While ATL seems big, it is in reality smaller than NY / LA / Bay Area

- While the highlife and women are good, the nightlife is also dominated by rappers / trap dudes / publicity seekers / etc. Athletes probably don’t want to get involved with some of the shyt that does on in Atlanta

- Teams don’t have a history of winning titles

Literally, none of those reasons were sports related... You're just parroting off things that'd make Atlanta appealing to a someone looking to relocate for a regular job or a change in scenery.

Atlanta is not a top destination for FA's in any sport, because it does nothing to elevate their star power, or bank accounts.....on top of that, there is no history of winning anything.

I never understood this either but it does make sense that dudes don't want to be in the same cities as their baby mothers/side chicks etc...

You can build a winner in the ATL but they haven't had a star caliber player since The Human Highlight reel...The Horford/Milsap teams were competitive but not a real championship threat and didn't play an exciting brand of ball either.

I dont understand that either shyt its a gang of white women and hispanic women all over THE A.
