Why isn't the BP soundtrack as popular as the movie?

Is the soundtrack popping like the movie?

Do you believe the quality and popularity of the Black Panther soundtrack is on par with the actual movie?

It won't be as popular because parents aren't gonna allow their small kids to listen to the album due to the content. The movie is PG-13. The album, minus 2-3 songs, have a lot of profanity and don't completely tie in to the movie.

I also had an issue with the fact that it was a PG - 13 movie(meaning its meant to attracty kids) yet the soundtrack has the word "nikka" in the mix. This was the issue I had with the other Micheal B Jordon movie Creed and its soundtrack having the word "nikka" in it when Rocky soundtracks had a tradition of having motivating theme songs and Rocky fans who would try to get into the Creed soundtrack would be sibject to hearing "nikka" all over the place.

Sign of the times.... Name a soundtrack that was as popular as a movie (that was popular) that came out in the last 10 years?

Not to mention its explicit and the movie is PG-13. I think we should all take pride in the fact we have a hip hop soundtrack to Superhero movie. A great example of #BlackExcellence regardless of how you personally feel about the songs or artists

it did like 150k the first week, pretty good for any album these days, especially a soundtrack:yeshrug:

i'm not comparing it to recent soundtracks or albums,i'm comparing it to the movie.

For instance
Soundtracks like purple rain, bodyguard, footloose, above the rim,new jack city, boyz n the hood etc had soundtracks that were equally as popular as the movie.

Black panther soundtrack isnt remotely getting talked about like the movie is.

Lol, every movie you named is at least 20 years old.... Im just saying it's different era now.

Everyone who has seen the movie says the soundtrack is perfect compliment to it.

Thats more important then it being a great stand alone project in my eyes

What are you talking about? It is popular.

I don't remember any movie soundtrack that got as much buzz, and sales this fast as the BP album has. Not even the old 90s hood movie soundtracks were as heavily promoted as this one.
