Why isn’t the history of the Arab (Muslim) Slave Trade more well known and discussed?

There are no black folks in prominent positions of power in Arab countries. That tells you all you need to know about the quality of life for black folks living there.

And why would “Arabs” hate Africans more than whites when by nature they are more close to being “black” than whites seeing how a lot of “Arab” population are mixed with Africans and live in close proximity and even some countries are IN AFRICA(North/east)?

Yea I’ve read a similar article on modern Slavery in Mauritania. So it’s no surprise

I think what motivated me to make the thread (besides the video in OP) was this documentary movie on Yemen/Oman

And how in one scene there was some king/sultan in his palace surrounded by his slaves (like 10 of them) all who were dark skinned black African Muslims

After seeing this I had to recheck what year the movie was made

It was the 1970s

Are you serious? Africans that adopted Christianity weren’t even seen as humans. What do you mean they never faced this issue Yes a lot of the slavery that had happened in the Arab slave trade was excused by the curse of ham story. But, correct me if I’m wrong, slaves in the Arab slave trade had mobility. For example, if your father was a slave, you wouldn’t be a slave. You could be a merchant or some other worker. Compared to the North Atlantic where if your father is a slave then you would be a slave then your kids so on and so forth.fukk both of them

Atleast in the u.s. slave status was based on the mother. If she was a slave then descendants would be which encouraged rape because it created more slaves

Yes, the Arab Muslims were central to the trans Atlantic slave trade..and the genocide and displacement of Africans in North Africa.
