this isnt how people feel. its the way the media is telling people how to feel.

why should we feel sorry for kobe? and why did iverson deserve to be ran out the league?
Who the fukk is telling you to feel sorry for Kobe? And who the fukk told you that AI deserved to be ran out of the league?

This is wrong.

And let's not act like "the media" ran AI out the league - he ran himself out the league, and let's certainly not act like "the media" have ignored Kobe's decline either.

you cant ignore kobe's decline when hes clearly hindering his team and playing awful.

funny thing is, we never saw any of this with iverson. we didnt even get to see iverson stink it up. they ran him out with the quickness.

Right that's the narrative the media is creating. In contrast for Iverson it was all about his bad attitude, practice rant, off court family/money problems, not wanting to come off bench, etc.. That the media focus on.

These same issues you can argue about Kobe throughout the years (minus the money issues), mind you....

In a nutshell the Media Made iversons fans forget about him/turn their backs on him (many of you in this forum:ehh:) but the same media are giving Kobe a pity party or farewell tour and people are eating it up.

Plus we all know Kobe fans are deludional and will always think he can do no wrong.

Anyways it's sad how they get treated differently.

Iverson in his prime > Kobe.

But Iverson got benched in Detroit and Memphis (quick story I went to Iverson 1st game with Memphis as a fan to see his "comeback" and he didn't even play. But I met him afterwards randomly on the street after the game:banderas:) then NBA forced him to go overseas where he was treated like a king. Finally he had to beg and cry to be even let back in the league.

Meanwhile Kobe is always entitled to everything, and focusing on his own career/image/personal goals while ruining the teams Chances at winning

Not to say Kobe wasn't a potential goat not long ago but he appears to have fallen off worse than AI. And with his demise he has dragged the lakers team down for atleast the past 3 years but I still respect him. I just respect Iverson just as much.... More really.
Too bad people don't see it the same as me.:manny:

I don't know if you have noticed or not, but pretty much 99% of the basketball public have acknowledged this - even Kobe himself has acknowledged this.

That's because i) Iverson never played for the Lakers ii) it was easier to get rid and move AI because of his contract iii) Kobe was rewarded for his time and success with a two-year extension - something he wouldn't have got if he didn't win five titles for the franchise.

lol.

i remember iverson was ballin on memphis until that rift with lionel hollins,

the media ignored how well he played, and acted as if he was washed up. then they completely ignored the fact that he was playing hurt when he returned to philly. they never even reported his injuries on anything but local media. dude was literally shootin up in the locker room at halftime of the games.

plus iverson deferred to his teammates, as opposed to kobe shooting 5 for 25 on a team where he shouldnt even be starting. meanwhile, iverson was forced to come off the bench behind players that he was better than.

:stopitslime: Kobe and Iverson had their respective places in the media before Kobe even had a starting job, much less a championship. Rings would have forced them to soften up on Iverson over time, but he still would have never fit the image that the media finds palatable. Iverson fukked up at the end, but he was made out to be the bad guy from day one in the league. He was portrayed as a fukking criminal. It was tragic :mjcry:

the lakers front office are idiots for giving kobe that contract.

they might as well have given shaq a contract too, since he was the actual star of the 3-peat. and lets not act like kobe did a carry job with those other 2 titles either.

people in here talking about rings. let kobe & iverson switch places in '96 and see what happens. lol.

WHAT THE fukk DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE MEDIA?

They rewarded him for his play and what he's brought to the franchise over his career.

Why would they have given Shaq the same contract when i) he didn't play his entire career in LA ii) he didn't win as many titles as Kobe did in LA. Who the fukk is acting like Kobe didn't have help with those other two titles? That's all besides the point.
