Stop this non sense man....Soccer is way more technical than just how big or fast you are....To assume Lebron or Adrien would be greta soccer players because of what they do in there restrospective sports is a fools errand breh...Chad Johnson basically showed that speed and athleticism means nothing if you dont have the skills, and to assume theyd HAVE those elite level skills cuz they are great running backs is ludicrous...

USA with a team full of Lebrons would be just as average as they are....

We had a huge argument on this a last year on the board. Give the USA 15 maybe 20 years and they can be elite the MONEY is finally being put behind it, and once the coaches get to the hood and the get the support of the parents its only a matter of time.

Hood wont matter....money and drawing from a larger group of talent always helps but it doesnt assure anything in a sport where skill is as important as athleticism...

I understand what your'e saying. But, a kid with blazing fast speed could:

1. Catch a ball; and

2. Out run everyone.

In football. Not taking away anything away from pigskin. But, at the lowest level, an athletic kid could shine brightly in football. Probably could shine in soccer too. But, he/she would have to put in work outside of their natural athletic ability to achieve the same level of success in Soccer. Look at it like this, JV soccer or starting varsity in football?

I see what you're saying and yeah skill far exceeds athleticism in soccer and you need to practice like crazy. But the amount of time you have to put into football is also crazy...so many kids quit playing because they don't feel like dealing with the coaches(who are generally crazy) and the amount of time you need to put in. You basically cut your summer in half and it's extremely difficult to work part-time. Football practice tests your mental will far more than any sport I've participated in. I fukking hated football practice.

That's what i'm saying. The vast majority of people in the country live in middle class to low class. Sports have always been an outlet for those of the underclass. So to NOT tap into that energy would be terrible. Its also why we don't have the class of other nations. We gotta make soccer/futbol cool in the hood.

Footwork and the rules. Like I said, in football, if a kid has speed, you can put him back there to return punts and he could potentially bounse asap on the competition. Whereas in soccer, he has to learn footwork., amongst other things.

For example, this,

would be easier to grasp, than this,

You could put a kid on the football field and he could shine day one if he's crazy athletic. That wouldn't happen in Soccer. Not saying that football isn't skilled. I know it is. But, based off of pure athleticism, a kid could be dominant in football based off blazing speed. Can't say the same for Soccer.

still dosnt prove its harder to play

if it was... then why its more little kid soccer leagues then pop warner football
in addition most people who say this never played football
if u did u may revise ur opinion (cause no sport has the amount of plays/ size of playbook of organizes football)

punt return is not the play in football you want to use as an example. That's probably the most difficult thing to master in the sport.

Without question, a football playbook is quite complicated. No argument here. However, a kid with speed could be easily be put on with specific instrutions to just run. That's not even plausible in Soccer.

Disagree. If you throw a kid onto a football field with just speed and has never practiced he'll get killed.

I agree 100%. But, a fast ass kid could still shine faster in football than soccer. I'm just speaking on the initial contact with the sport.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Here's the point the dudes defending soccer are missing....

I am not saying you just roll a ball onto the field and some NFL & NBA players would be good at the game because they are athletic, what I am saying is had those guys that ended up in the NFL & NBA played soccer from a young age, a small percentage of those great athletes would have developed the skills necessary to improve Team USA soccer.

Anyone that thinks a pro of one sport can just pick up another sport late in life and be great at it is out of their minds. That's just fukking arrogance and stupidity to be honest, but the drive, determination and in some cases incredible athleticism necessary to make it to the NBA/NFL could have been used to drive them to a very high level in Soccer.
