What’s a good paid service breh?Free VPNs are as bad as no protection. Better pay good money for one that DOESNT LOG.
$100 bucksThe only service to have never leaked (DNS, IP) shyt up to this point is IVPN. I use it but it costs $100. PIA and Mullvad are the next best thing and come a bit slightly cheaper. PIA is on record for not selling people out to the feds.
ProtonVPN is the ONLY VPN with a free-tier (pay for speed and number of devices) that I’d trust but that tier is a bit slow for my taste.
Regardless, go for one that DOESNT LOG and always READ their PRIVACY POLICY.
Plenty of other shyt you can do to keep safe only but that’s a whole another thread.
*looks at username*Don’t know who runs this site exactly but I feel like we as a community should request that this site has HTTPS encryption. Just about any reputable website does shyt, even Lipstick Alley.
For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, TheColi doesn’t have the padlock icon next to its address in the search bar.
This leaves us vulnerable to several things but most importantly a major privacy violation.
What HTTPS does is prevent your ISP from knowing which specific subdomain (items on the site) your accessing at the time. If Comcast wanted to do research your traffic (web searching) habits, they’d only see that your accessing TheColi.com, and what which page you’re on specifically.
HTTPS helps prevent intruders from tampering with the communications between your websites and your users’ browsers. Intruders include intentionally malicious attackers, and legitimate but intrusive companies, such as ISPs or hotels that inject ads into pages.
Intruders exploit unprotected communications to trick your users into giving up sensitive information or installing malware, or to insert their own advertisements into your resources. For example, some third parties inject advertisements into websites that potentially break user experiences and create security vulnerabilities.
Intruders exploit every unprotected resource that travels between your websites and your users. Images, cookies, scripts, HTML … they’re all exploitable. Intrusions can occur at any point in the network, including a user’s machine, a Wi-Fi hotspot, or a compromised ISP, just to name a few.
PROBABLY SHOULD READ UP ON THIS SUBJECT BREHS. HTTPS DOES LITTLE FOR A FORUM. ALL THE DATA TRANSMITTING IS POSTED TO THE SITE. YOUR IP ISN'T PROTECTED BY HTTPS.
THAT'S WHY THE SHOP HAS IT AND THE FORUM DOESN'T.
