Why isn't Wade Phillips a HC candidate?

With all these HC vacancies, and names of coordinators with no HC experience being tossed around. Why isn't a guy with his resume up for consideration? He's had more success as a coordinator than any names throw around as well, with maybe the exception of McDaniels. Been coaching since '69 and in the NFL since '76 to.

That said Jason Garret did snake him out of a job in Dallas, I won't forget that

Wade was 1-9 in his last year and the team looked pathetic in green bay his final game which was the final straw. the players tuned him out and Jerry realized we weren't gonna win with dude. Now i'm not the biggest Garrett fan but the reality is the reality. I do agree with the beginning of the post tho, he's definitely a better D.C. than HC. With that being said, here's why he ain't getting no more offers to become a HC after Dallas:

Man Garrett changed that whole offense up schematically when he took over, when he had full control of the offense when Wade was in charge.

I would think all the openings. I'm just putting it out there, that the man has done more work in the league than any other candidate out there. Age like a previous poster said could be an issue. I think that might have been why the Jags didn't sign Coughlin for the head coaching job . would you prefer Marrone or McDermont to coach your team?
