Why isn't Wes Welker held in the same regard as Fitz and Megatron?

So if you asked Pete Carroll if he was going to put Richard Sherman on Wes Welker, what do you think the answer would be?

So if you asked Bruce Arians if he was going to put Patrick Peterson on Wes Welker, what do you think the answer would be?

Even in welker prime...what coach is putting champ bailey on him in the slot? What coach is putting Tillman on him in the slot? Which coach is putting Revis on him in the slot?

If Welker is so good...why keep him in the slot? If he is so good, don't you want him on the edges more like every other team has done with every no 1 receiver in the history of the league...

Also, if it wasn't for Welker, Brady would have another super bowl win...cause I've seen other receivers catch that ball he dropped a million fukking times...
champ did line up on Wes one time during the entire game, he got locked up

If you've ever played in a spread offense.... you'd know the guy who plays in the slot, is usually the least talented receiver, the slowest, and is going to run the least difficult routes to get him into open space.

He's not a #1 receiver, couldn't even be an underachieving #2.... he's a #3 receiver with inflated numbers.

Faggits stay hating on the goat white we

And let's act like he didn't play without moss or Brady before and had great season wit Cassel

And after moss left he was basically the last wr from that crop of wrs who broke the record, and still was great in a full time small ball no deep threats offense wit gronk and murder h

And then left and did the same thing wit Peyton :yeshrug: he is great, hopefully his head is aight after his career

:what:

Wes Welker isn't Steve Largent.... He's not even Ed McCaffery, he's like a poor mans Wayne Chrebet or a really good Ricky Proehl

If you put Welker on the Pats last season he'd still be in the slot and he'd still be the best receiver.

If there's a team of no name bullshyt receivers and you put Wes Welker there the defense would obviously pay more attention to him.

Until I can get a name of a slot receiver that has even touched the numbers Welker did without Brady at the sane size as Welker he's still the GOAT slot receiver

I didn't say it was, but being the best receiver he would be. He would STILL play in the slot because that's just what he is.

He's a slot receiver. And I'm sure if you put him as a outside receiver against most CBs his numbers still wouldn't drop much

Wes Welker doesn't get in the conversation because he's not as physically dominant, and thusly, he's harder to throw to in the redzone.

Welker's highest TDs in a season is 10 in last year's record-breaking season for Denver's offense.

Larry Fitzgerald, for example... has had FIVE seasons of 10 TD's or more.

And that is something that people take into consideration when considering the best, most elite wide receivers.

Hell, Hakeem Nicks had an 11 TD season...

there is something to be said for route running and receptions and moving the chains... but physical dominance is a different.

Which is why a guy like Jordy Nelson is a better receiver. Faster, bigger, stronger, excellent route runner... and can still fight for a ball against a DB.

Yeah I hear what you're saying but I've always liked that word. :pachaha:

Because:
-Welker can't regularly beat the oppositions best cover men
-He has to be paired with bigger, stronger, faster receivers to do that so he can get matched up against nickel backs or LBs and beat them on little short routes up and down the field
-He doesn't score a lot of TDs
-He can only get numbers in the most dominant offensive systems of the past two decades (dating back to his college days when he played in Mike Leach's clown show at Texas Tech)
-He cannot physically outmatch other NFL players like Fitz, Megatron, Dez, Demaryius, etc. can, therefore he must rely on gimmicks, picks, short slot routes against LBs, etc. to get open

I mean come on. He's not compared to those guys because those guys are #1s. He needs the presence of guys like that alongside him to be able to do what he does.
