i like lebron and am enjoying watching him put up all these stats but we'll see how good he still is when the league starts stringent drug testing

Real spit:lawd:

He gotta be on something. And he never gets tired. He.s basically the size of a defensive end, with the speed of a wide receiver and the endurance of a Kenyan:what:

Ah so you mean LeBron was better at a younger age? And you feel this should be held against him?

Obviously Jordan was more mature and seasoned when he entered the league, having played 3 years for a HOF coach. So why would you compare that to a teenager who was basically raw yet still refined because he's Bron?

In fact LeBron has been better at every stage of life. At 15 Jordan was playing JV while LeBron was on the cover of SI. At 18 Jordan was playing well in college while Bron was playing well in the NBA. At 22 Jordan just finished his rookie year while LeBron was already playing in the Finals. At 27 Jordan still had yet to reach the Finals while LeBron has an MVP.

So while you compare LeBron at 28 to Jordan at 28+3, remember that ALL Jordan's titles came in that "+3" and since LeBron has already been so much better in years 1-28 why is it impossible to imagine him being better in the next 3? It's actually illogical to think he won't be better.

Compare bronze to Kareem and then slink away quietly.

Really good article that puts things in perspective. Lebron is already a top 5 player in history and I'd say he has a 50/50 shot at being the GOAT. Worst case scenario, I think he goes down as the 2nd best player of the modern era. Whether or not he accumulates the accolades (rings, MVP's, etc.) that will eventually have casual basketball fans anoint him as such is a different story. I trust my eyes though. Dudes like Magic/Larry Bird are often considered top 5 players. There's very few people that would pick those guys to start a team over this current version of Lebron. But he somehow has to win 4-5 more titles to justify being held in that regard? The "rings" argument is such a lazy ass analysis.

This will be the 6th consecutive season Lebron James is seen by most to be the best player in the NBA and it obviously doesn't look like he's slowing down anytime soon. Really think about that for a second. Let's just be conservative and say Durant surpasses him somehow after next season. That'll be 7 years of being on top. When was the last time a player had that kind of sustained excellence and dominance? Not even Jordan did that. I don't even know how far back you'd have to go, honestly.
