They're planning a Warlock film called *guardians of the galaxy* Maybe odin figures out whats going on and disperses the gems in the gauntlet among various keepers and then thanos goes out to grab them all in upcoming films.

I really think he needs the Gauntlet to make all the gems work properly together and he'll end up getting it in Thor 2 or Avengers 2. Remember in Thor Loki didn't have powers to possess people or influence them. It was his staff that held the power. And his staff was blue...the same color as the mind gem.

And the guy in the beginning said how Loki should be lucky that the master (Thanos) gave it to him, which makes me think Thanos already has some of the gems and will be collecting the rest throughout the other movies. But he needs the Gauntlet to make them work in unison. Which is why Loki was allowed to be captured.

Thanos could have came down and snatched him up or killed him without an issue. Thanos now has a way into Asgard. Thanos gets to take the Gauntlet while getting Thor and Odin out of the picture so Loki can rule. Or so Loki thinks. Thanos and Loki's plan is barely at the halfway mark.

Eh....I dunno about all that.

It kinda don't make sense considering Loki could've strolled into Asgard at any time. Why come up with an elaborate plot to start a war, get your ass whupped by Hulk, just to end up where you could've went your damn self, with no hassle? Thor was practically begging him to come home during the movie, before, during, and after the war.

A more likely scenario is Thanos sent Loki and the Chitauri at Earth as a kind of jab, knowing damn well they'd most likely lose. Which is why he looked so happy at the end when the main alien said attacking Earth was a losing proposition....winning was never on his mind. He just wanted to test The Avengers.
