you can take advantage of it by using outlook for more than basic stuff, using office more, and caring more about superficial stuff like cortana etc

you could always get a chromebook and use all google stuff
:stopitslime: you being sarcastic?

Anyway most of what I need is done pretty much online.(Amazon, Google etc.)
Only thing I'd check out is a windows phone.

no, you asked how you could take advantage of it with no interest in doing that. so i answered you. the first step is getting interested.
stupid question, stupid answer
Let me rephrase my question then: In what way can I take advantage of this shift if I use Android primarily for mobile use? I don't have much use for those office suite apps at this point in my life.
I don't know why you guys act like anyone not praising something is an affront to you.

same answer breh, by using the MS services on your android device...in tandem with any other device you use.
you cant take advantage of it if you dont use it and dont care to

well I guess time will tell. Right now I don't have any serious use for these things. :manny: I guess that's why MS stuff don't interest me.

you see it tho, look at the console wars. we bicker less and less about actual hardware and more and more about content.
its eventually going to be 100% about content and 0% about what device you have in your hand accessing it...

Huh? Those resolution/fps arguments stem from hardware. I don't see hardware going away anytime soon since internet and connections aren't as ubiquitous as we think.
I don't see Intel/Nvidia/AMD slowing down on hardware.

Its just Microsoft realizing since they were late to the smartphone explosion and late to tablet hardware they may as well try to integrate into everyone else's stuff. Which is the logical way of doing things considering they still have some pull. Too many people still use a PC and they never reflected on that.

And there is where Microsoft is still playing catch up. Its nothing Google hasn't done. You'll still need Apple products for the Apple ecosystem. You don't need Android for the Google one. Now MS is playing the card they should have been playing all along.

As for a universal platform, it is a great idea. Both Apple and Google are/were moving towards it. For once in a long while MS can carve a path and show them how its done. Just hope the current CEO can keep to understanding that vendor lock in doesn't help them when they're trailing. And it won't end well then they're ahead.

That's nice.
Now can someone tell me how can I take advantage of this shift?

I use windows 10 and I have an android phone. I rarely use office apps and pretty much I just use windows mail for basic stuff. I don't care much about these superficial stuff like Cortana etc.

I'm not interested in a surface or laptops.
You obviously aren't very productive
