Happens in real life too, apparently I'm the tallest 5'10" nikka in the world. Everyone else I meet who claims to be 5'10" is shorter than me.

He's not taller, you're looking at Blake's hair, Durant's head is higher and his shoulders are higher.

I think the confusion with the height stems from the fact most of the listings in the NBA are with shoes on, ie Andre Drummond is listed at 6'11" when he's 6'9.75" without shoes, but with shoes he really is 6'11". The issue is that the Euro guys are listed without shoes when they're in Europe, like Kristaps was always listed at 7'1" when he played in Spain, he's 7'1" and change without shoes and 7'3" with them, Gobert was listed at 7'0" over there, he's listed at 7'1" here because that's what he measured with shoes on.


Durant was 6'9" without shoes when he came into the league, when he says he's 6'11" now he probably means without shoes.

Russel is listed at 6'9

Dirk is 7 foot and appears to be only about an inch taller

Dirk was never listed at 7'0" before he came to the US, he was 6'10, 6'11" and 6'11.5" he's probably 7'0" in shoes, while Russell was 6'9.75" during his prime and probably shrunk a bit in his old age, but he's still gonna be about 6'10" in shoes.

I've always wondered why they say "with shoes" when talking about a players height.

Like they will say something like "Allen Iverson is 6'0 with shoes"..... nikka when are you ever gonna see Allen Iverson barefoot? Does it matter how tall a player is "without shoes" if he's playing in them to begin with?
