I think you missed the point
It's not a conspiracy to say that a show about a real life killer who's killings( most of which were racially motivated) glamourised in a TV series you can binge watch is going to likely influence sickos across the globe who probably never even heard of the dude because he was never in their country and they never bothered to read. But a TV show draws more attention and infamises the murderer when he should have never had a legacy.
Mass shooters are inspired by other mass shooters one in Norway will inspire another in New Zealand but journalists have to document it. This show was just unnecessary profit off black pain.
Imagine the outrage if they had a Hitler Netflix special showing how Jews were gassed as a TV show.

To be honest, they probably should. Too many people walking around saying the Holocaust didn't happen.
But I don't think Dahmer was some cash in on black pain. Its not like this wasn't one of the most well know serial killer cases in American history. Its beyond "black pain" its also history. Not to mention serial killer shyt has been cresting in popularity for years now. Of course, Dahmer would be revisited.

But what benefit does revisiting it in 2022 do for society? I know people from other countries who didn't hear about this disgusting individual until the Netflix show so while he was infamous in America, he was forgotten to history for a whole generation worldwide (aside from some minor reference in that Katie Perry Juicy J song).
The point of history is to prevent it from happening again like the catastrophe of Nuclear war when we mention Hiroshima and Nagasaki and Harry Truman's decisions to fire the atomic bombs. Furthermore it's not a documentary, but a TV show with actors and people are making dark memes about it on social media.
