Actually now that you mention it, I think these gotta be the cheapest mining rights on earth. There might be some merit to at least conquering the Hindu Kush. Some of those rocks must be worth something. But they can keep that desert tho.

I'm pretty sure Alexander the Great conquered parts of ancient India (parts that would be considered modern Afghanistan today).
