Think about it...if everyone can go to school, schools will be more selective. There's not enough space.

The admissions requirements will get tougher and better students will proceed
There's plenty of space. dont let them fool you. due to online. a professor can have quadruple the number of classes he/she use to have.

especially for quite of a few of those GE classes. They get these bucks that are linked to these Learning Systems. and all the professor has to do is link everything up properly(they are trained). once that happens. the students go to that Learning system to do all of their reading assignments, homework, projects, tests, quizzes, midterms, finals. If there's any papers that have to be written and graded. that can be turned in there too and the teacher just has to do some grading in those areas. but stuff like math, nope. no teacher necessary, statistics, nope, biology, chemistry, physics, the first or so courses in those subjects. no teacher needed. online, even the labs my friends( i know this from personal experience.) accounting(they use Learning systems for this for most levels of accounting, all of your reading is within the system, all your work and tests is thru there. you never need the professor for anything. everything is done an auto graded by the system. thats it.

Maybe in STEM. Online professors in other fields won’t want to increase their workload that much.

Also, space is not just about classroom sizes.
Accepting too many students can create issues with things like housing, mental health services, and advising.

Bernie’s college and student loan plans need tweaking.

I understand he likes to keep it simple for the rallies. However, I think this type of policy can cause you to lose middle class voters.

so if that is the case, then so does all school k-12. but we know that isnt the case. stop it dead.
the investment is your time. as if that isnt worth a thing.

you do realize i could go get a job fresh out of highschool and start padding my resume with experience. have zero debt and be ahead of the game. But no, i'll take my time out of my day to sit in someone's classroom and learn a subject or 4. TIME = MONEY my friend. did you forget that?

and if we want to play the investment game. fine. make these companies that are requiring everyone to have a degree in non doctor, engineer, lawyer, etc type fields, foot some of that bill.
Or return to relying on aptitude test rather than degrees.

… and as I've stated several times, if we aren't talking about reforming k-12 we aren't serious.:yeshrug:

well we're in a situation in which an education once meant you could pay loans back, and now we're learning it doesn't...so, this thinking doesn't help the hundreds of thousands of people sitting around with loans and shyt jobs
I was discussing this with a friend and I think one of the hardest things to digest is that in many areas of our society there is a generation or two that is completely f*cked.
:wow:
They aren't being bailed out.
Their industry/jobs aren't coming back.
Their social security isn't yet secure.
They aren't going to be retooled for the modern economy.
etc.

What's the Average High School GPA?
Average High School GPAs by Gender and Ethnicity
NCES also provided some interesting (and a bit upsetting) statistics on how average high school GPA differs with regard to gender and ethnicity:

Average GPA By Gender:
  • Males: 2.90
  • Females: 3.10
Average GPA By Ethnicity:
  • Asian/Pacific Islander: 3.26
  • White: 3.09
  • Hispanic: 2.84
  • Black: 2.69

:mjgrin:Something tells me 3.0 will be the cut off.
these GPA's :flabbynsick:
