I remember when Rex Ryan was coach of the Jets dude used to BRAG all the time about his run defense . “Nobody can run on us, we got the best run defense etc”.

Meanwhile mediocre Qbs are having 300 yard 3 TD games and blowin his team out . Like who cares it’s not 1968

i run nickel defense on ncaa football..... it works against the pass and run equally well...

Haven't watched the video yet but I can imagine this is about total rushing yards instead of ypc. If that's the case.. Only new comers to the sport can't catch the distinction.

Give up 50 ypg but on 10 carries because your offense makes a team one dimensional. Then gloat about rush defense.

LaDainian would be so ridiculous in this era: running threat, catching threat and passing threat. Not to mention dude is one of the best RB's when it comes to pass protection.

Infact, 9 of the top 10 rushing teams from last years revular season went to the playoffs

if you can't stop the run you can't stop the pass either it's that simple. I dont care if you have the legion of boom back there if i can get 5+ yards every run play you losing. Good defensive teams stop both. Rex's defenses kept him in games he could never get a decent qb or the offense going to take advantage of it.

You HAVE to be able to put defenses in 3rd and long and make them one dimensional on that play otherwise the Seahawks (for example) just hand the ball to Marshawn and kill you 7 yards at a time.
