People are going to skip over this post but it's the one telling the most truth.

Charlotte is a city for families and people who want to live in a big city without actually being in one. 90% of the post in here will be about how quiet an area is or where to buy homes.

EpicCenter is a two story circlular baby mall. No one talks about the Charlotte museums or visual attractions or social events. Cause there aren't any. When the CIAA comes to town, Charlotteans stay home cause they don't want to go into uptown. A social event where many people from town don't want to go? Carowinds is for kids and the most adult attraction they have is that Whitewater Center.

Charlotte isn't a bad city. It's just meant for a certain type of person.
This is not inaccurate. If you're single and looking for shyt to do, this is not the place. If you're single and looking to find someone and settle down, this is not a bad spot.

It’s just in a weird place because it’s an emerging city. I’ll agree that it’s a very generic place currently.
I don't think it's ever going to be the city people think it is. The entire city is planned around attracting people to Uptown(The UNCC light rail extension is to bring university kids to uptown). But people don't want to be crammed into a small circle.

The people living outside in areas like Mint Hill, Concord, or Gastonia can live there a year and never go into the entertainment center of town if they don't want to. That's insane.

Some slammed Chubbs for mentioning Baltimore as an example but he's right. Big cities needs a certain level of ugly. Street art or distinctive old buildings from the past. Charlotte has none of it. You won't know Charlotte is as old as it is cause it doesn't have anything like Boston row houses or a meat packing district for artist. Plaza Midwood is as close to it and it's just a street really.

the Harvey gant center had a good exhibition on the selma/montgomery marches when I visited but yeah I agree with your point
Yeah, it's the same with that Nascar Hall of Fame. It's a beautiful building and cool stuff in it, but the kind of people white Nascar fans who would want to go aren't going spend money to go into Uptown when there's not anything else in the area for them.

I remember when Tiger Woods was killing it and the PGA came through our area.
We all had to go to the HOA and get tags to prove that we lived there (because Tiger was basically playing in our backyard)

Well my dad forgot :francis:

So on our way back from school we were stopped by security, they wouldn't let us go to our house.
My dad had to go to the city clerk to get a copy of the house deed before they would let us by.

Fukk golf, I just wanted to go home and play Donkey Kong:francis:
I just remember when I was doing a story on some company trying to put cell towers in a Piper Glen neighborhood and I was standing on grass in front of a house to get video. I found out later that day that it was Fantasia’s house:mjcry: Thats dope though man:salute:I’m not a big golf fan but two of my uncles live that shyt and one used to caddy for golfers in the Masters.. Michael Jordan used to always ask for him specifically whenever he played Augusta.. I loosely follow it and I’ve been to every tournament at Quail Hallow for the past 3 years. It’s beautiful out there.

Can yall recommend some good spots that are authentic out here(if there are any at all). So far, I've had some of the same chain places I can have anywhere. I mainly eat at places close to where I live. Highland creek, seems to be home to a lot of chain restaurants...

Hold up mane! There’s a whataburger in Carolina? :ohhh:

You shouldn’t have told me that. From Winston, I used to drive 20/30 mins down to Lexington for some Godfathers pizza. It ain’t no thang to drive down to Concord or Kanapolis for some of that great food!

You live near me, there's hardly any "authentic" restaurants in this area lol

If you feel like driving all the way down to Monroe Rd. near the Elizabeth neighborhood, there's a cool little hole in the wall spot called Lupie's Cafe
