Weirdly enough, around here in NYC, you get more value (more actual tails and cheaper) from the Dominican spots. But they only have them on certain days :wow:

Noticed that years back. I never tasted theirs but I know they let it go for like 7 or 8 dollars. I wonder what's the science behind it

Gentrification breh, cacs starting to find out about it, just like chicken feet, intestines etc. What was once considered a poor man's meal (just like lobster was) is now a delicacy. :francis:
same thing with anything from carribbean and latin communities...it gets mainstream

Look what they did to chicken feet, Collard greens, plantains, avocados, kale, quinoa, yams, ackee, bok choy, etc...

ALSO...Whole Foods had a HUGE hand to play in this.

Oxtails got gentrified.

We gotta move past this thinking where everything is black/white. Oxtail is a common dish in Asia, South America, Africa, the Caribbean, and parts of Europe (specifically Spain). Why would I be shocked that the price is rising in such a diverse country as America?
