Used to go to the movies in the malls, go to the chinese spot in the food court...then just walk into a foot locker or some other clothing store and go straight to the cashier like "Hey, Im trying to sneak some food into the theater, can I just get one of ya'll bags?" :smugfavre: and they used to be like :lolbron: and give me one of them big bags.

Would walk right in the theater like

Or have the chick you with bring the big grandmama pocket book :lolbron:

I dont even think they are low fat tbh. Popcorn is literally one of the worst foods anyone can eat. They are unhealthy as hell. The body doesnt even digest corn kernels.

You may be right....to a point :skip:

Add all that shyt and

But at the end of the day...go to a theater and get the largest popcorn you can get.

If you think the largest popcorn is anymore than like .5 of a pound (:merchant:), then hit the gym homie.

Benefits
In addition to its role as a high-fiber food that helps promote gastrointestinal health, popcorn contains antioxidants, substances that protect body cells from damage that can lead to disease. In research presented at the 238th annual meeting of the American Chemical Society, University of Scranton professor Joe Vinson indicated that popcorn contains more antioxidants known as polyphenols than any other snack food. Overall, Dr. Vinson found that whole grains contain as many antioxidants as fruits and vegetables, while in comparison, refined and processed grains contain very few.
Additional Nutrients
Although popcorn does not contribute significant amounts of any nutrients, it supplies trace amounts of the B vitamins thiamin, niacin, B6 and folate, and the minerals magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, copper and iron. One cup of popcorn supplies 6 grams of carbohydrates. What little fat occurs naturally in popcorn is in the form of healthier monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Popcorn contains no saturated or trans fats, which are considered to be bad for your health.

The official reason popcorn is sold in movie theaters

Well, movies in America really began to get popular in the 1920's and 1930's - the Golden Age of Hollywood. The Great Depression was happening about the same time...

During the Great Depression, popcorn was comparatively cheap at 5-10 cents a bag and became popular. Thus, while other businesses failed, the popcorn business thrived and became a source of income for some struggling farmers. During World War II, sugar rations diminished candy production, causing Americans to eat three times more popcorn than they had before.

Back in the old days, popcorn vendors would "set up shop" outside theaters. The theater managers didn't like this, thinking it was a distraction. But moviegoers disagreed, frequently ducking out to buy popcorn and then ducking back in to see the movie.

Eventually the theater owners figured out they could sell popcorn themselves, and run the outdoor vendors out of business. Over time it's become the major money-maker for theaters, since it's so cheap to make. It costs about a dime to make a $2.00 bag of popcorn.
