I bought a 500 buck lenovo which comes with 1920X1080 Native resolution which is not "Retina" but good enough and 6 GB of ram. Very hard high quality plastic casing which is solid (similar to PVC). Threw in a 90 dollar 256 GB solid state in there and I was set to go

in terms of aesthetics I've seen a couple that look nicer then a mac, but maybe that's just me.

Check out the HP Stream. Doesn't have I5 but a specialized AMD A5 (I think) processor.

Looks like a mac and has a very nice solid build quality. My beef with it however is that it has 32 GIGS internal which CAN'T be removed because its integrated into the motherboard. For my girlfriend, its nice, but for me thats a deal breaker. You can put in a microSD of any size it it though.

edit: at 1:50 he talks about the build slightly. I've held it and it has nice weight and has a very "compact" feel to it. Comes in different colors. Wouldn't get that little boy blue shyt myself.

The resale value makes up for it
People overlook this but Macs Homd excellent value. You can get top dollar for them even years later as long as you keep it Like new. I've seen older MacBooks I have fixed up for hundreds

I already bought an HP but im actually looking for something a bit better...I Checked out the streams but they were a bit too basic and i couldn't dig the colors.

i love macs i bought a macbook air and macbook pro this year for my parents and got it for cheap cuz of those student deals they got at best buy
i think i paid 650$ for the macbook air 13", i used windows pieces of shyt my whole life and sooner or later those shyts crash so dont even bother with those shyts now, especially HP's trash.
