I copped yesterday from apple.com....screen sized looked nice in person

Congrats. There was no way I was going to get anything under 15. Then I used my girls 13 and copped a 13. Much more convenient and of course the battery life.

Memory Clean - is a nice app that frees up memory if your mac should ever get bogged down.

X11, Wine and CrossOver - are some app that should help you easy into Mac OS X fully. these apps let you run some Windows apps natively on OS X

App Cleaner - to help you remove most file when you want to delete/uninstall an application

App Trap - runs in the background and associates plist, (program files that usually remain after a app is deleted/uninstalled), and identifies and prompts you to delete the files them when you delete/uninstall an application.

CCleaner for Mac

7zX, The Unarchiver - For Archive/ compressed files

MPlayer X - Similar to VLC but it works better on Mac IMHO

You can do most of this manually though. Plus the mac os runs more efficient then Windows.

I cosign all of these expect Memory Clean. With the newer operating systems, apps like Memory Clean defeat the purpose of caching.

I have a 15" Retina MBP with 16GB of RAM and an intel i7 2.7GHz Processor and I've had Mavericks and Yosemite 10.10.1 lockup/crash on me a few times, without using this utility.

It depends on how you use you Mac that will determine it i's use is needed or not.

This is true but, it can be tedious at times typing commands or searching through folders, not everyone may be well versed using bash/mac terminal such as you and I. For those aren't, these apps should be helpful.

That may be the case for you, but it still doesn't change the fact that apps like that delete cached memory, which serves to speed up performance on newer operating systems. I'm sure it's useful if you use multiple memory intensive apps though.

I plan on copping a 13 (supposedly they will probably be 12 inches) inch air when they refresh them again. That retina display :wow:

i paid 1600 for my 15" retina :myman: get you connect game up

shyt I just sold a mid 2010 MBP for 375 dollars...so I can't knock Mbps at all...
why do i always see people selling their not too old MBPs sold for such low prices? I sold my 2007 17" MBP in 2011 or 2012 for like 600

Fluctus Free - for editing audio files
And the obvious like:
Logic Pro X, if you Have an iPad there is a Logic Pro remote app the let you use the iPad like a MPC beat machine (Really Dope).
Ableton Live

iFunBox - Lets you manipulate files/file system on your iDevice no jailbreak needed.

Show Hidden Files on Mac OS X using Mac "Terminal"
type the following command in the terminal app:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles NO
Hold the 'option' Key
Right Click on "finder" on the dock
choose relaunch.

To reverse
type the following command in the terminal app:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
Hold the 'option' Key
Right Click on "finder" on the dock
choose relaunch.
