I don't think people realize what Apple and the company stands for.
Are their products overpriced? Yeah, some of them (not all)
Why the premium price tag? Because you are usually getting top of the line products that work well together.
When you get a MacBook you get:
An i5 or i7 processor, not a core i3 or a Pentium
500GB+ Hard Drive or SSD
Top of the line wireless and bluetooth connectivity
High pixel density
great support
High resale value if you take care of it
When you buy an iPad or iPhone you get:
A fast and smooth phone
16+ GB of storage (unless you get the oldest model)
A phone that you know will get OS updates for YEARS...the iPhone 4S has iOS 8
premium feeling products, not that plasticky shyt Samsung pulls off and still charges 600+ out of contract
High resale value if you take care of it
Do they put in the bleeding edge tech? No, with the exception of the processors. But you will get products that will be supported for a long ass time and hold incredible resale value. A 2009 MacBook can still get you anywhere between $250-$400 depending on the condition and if you have the original packaging to go along with it.
It's a nice package they sell
