There's a belief that anything the government does that will benefit minorities and/or immigrants will hurt white people (ie. real Americans) so they automatically vote for the least minority-friendly candidate.

"Why the hell do middle class and middle class white people think", let me stop you right there because NO thought is given in this matter, nor is their thought given towards voting FOR Hillary in most cases because regardless of who win it wont be middle class people. This elections is about personality and idealism not rational thinking. If it was about rational thinking we'd have better choices for candidates.
