lowkey they could have waited another year
too many fanboys in gaming but release was sort of pathetic

the pro and the 1x were a complete waste and a money grab
its clear they waited for parts prices to come down to sell you minor upgrades
for consoles that arent even fleshed out or developed yet
amazing consoles but they werent ready ... basically they are selling the cart before the horse
its cool to have for the future and the responsiveness and graphics are smooth
otherwise id be playing all of these "new" games on last generation regardless ...then add in the fact that those same games are being priced higher :usure:

I'm not mad at having next gen, but they could have easily brought more to the table, especially when like you said PC can already do more and better. That makes this "next gen" waiting period seem hilarious.
People are waiting for more and to be wow'd, but you can literally just start a PC up and eat like you're in a buffet with a 50% off coupon even last year. Like usual GTA will probably come through and save the day if we are being completely honest.
Otherwise we are just at the mercy of slow developing studios, bad creators who make the same game over and over and paywalls

I dunno about you but I skipped out on the PS4 Pro Version and rode my launch PS4 all the way up until the end of the generation. Seeing PS5 running 60 Fps is well worth it for me plus the new games coming in the future. I made the investment early so I don't have to later. All I got to do now is just watch the piff drop.

Well that's just the thing. I'm completely fine with my Xbox one and PS4 but with a release of the next iteration, games will soon no longer be developed for either one. It affects me breh. And others that don't see the point in upgrading.
Games are becoming too ambitious for the old hardware. You see it with cd project red having trouble getting cyberpunk running on old hardware. Current games struggle to hold 30 fps on base ps4/X1 hardware and neither console takes advantage of 4k resolutions which is the next step in technology.

What you're basically saying is that developers should continue to limit game development by indefinitely creating games for weak hardware that's nearly 10 years old.

Nobody HAS to play games, if the shyt isnt worth the cost to you then you can always pick up a cheaper hobby that doesn't evolve as fast as technology does.

check the longevity of a company that actually provides material in their games :yeshrug:
all of these other companies are putting out Assassins Creed Pt 12, Call of Duty Pt 20, Battlefield Pt 9
give us some actual food that isnt microwaved, for what its worth....GTA is played out but at least it provided at least 5 years of playtime at first
meanwhile everyone is copping Pt 10 of other games and not complaining at all. Gaming has fallen off hardbody in the past 5 years innovation wise... for example Mortal Kombat
great game but why not take number 10 and combine it with 11 since its already there. Take the krypt and story of 11 but throw in the characters and skins from 10 into 11 and actually use your assets
Instead of having MK10 just being lost in the shuffle actually utilize what you've already done... all it would do is make your games bigger and more refined

Origins and Odyssey should have been easily combined after the 2nd dropped ... with new consoles and digital downloading... you could easily have connected both maps ... or at the very least implement odyssey innovation into origins with an update
Its 2020 ... people act like you cant just update these games with a quick patch... to me there is no point of having games lost in time due to abandonment. Especially when they are all the same shyt

where's the innovation in any of these games the past few years? they have the time and assets to expand to infinite size on content and still sell you the bare minimum

What were we lacking that called for this?

I'm looking at all the games released...and there is not a big jump in graphics at all.

The loading times are nice...but that's just due to the sdd, tech that has existed for a long time now.

I mean, what are people that are staying last gen missing out on?

This is probably the weakest, most lackluster launch I've ever witnessed.

Seriously what do we get? A new system that costs 400 - 500 dollars? The nerve of PS5 now charging seventy dollars for games that look like they are running on A PS4?

Scust...:scust:
Let me guess you still couldn’t secure one :umad:

Oh cool. Another "justify my decision to not care about these consoles yet" thread. :unimpressed:

For me, convenience alone made the decision for me.

Y'all can joke about the load times, but they really do make a drastic difference. Destiny 2 is less of a chore to play because I know I'm not going to spend the better part of 10 minutes or more loading between zones before I get to really playing. I don't leave Madden running for hours or days on end, because I know the process of getting into Franchise and loading a game up isn't going to take forever.

I fukked around and died in Ghost of Tsushima, and as a force of habit, I started fukking around on my phone, waiting to load back up. I died again because shyt have loaded before I even opened up a thread on here. On top of that, I'm playing it at a higher frame rate than was achievable when it came out all of four months ago.

And the difference is only going to get more drastic. Games will still be made for the One and PS4, but games like Cyberpunk that struggle to run well on that generation are likely going to be the rule, not the exception going forward.
