Why the hell do we need the ps5 or Xbox X now?

I make more than you and I'd be willing to do a ban bet until 2/1/2021 behind that. The discussion is not being able to afford it, it's the discussion of it even being necessary based on what was presented. I remember a distinct difference from the PS3 - PS4 graphic wise and overall features.

We've been able to quickly resume our games this entire gen, why is this a perk now. Silly.

no it wasn’t. The jump from ps3 to ps4 was not big lol. Games still wasn’t hitting 1080p and 60fps

last of us part 1 graphics was on par with very ps4 game.

same deal for Xbox. Only game that saw a upgrade of battlefield 4 going from 16 v 16 to 32 vs 32 in multiplayer early in the generation.

This is actually a bigger jump

120fps, 4K, faster loading, enhancments on last gen games. Halo mcc runs at 120 fps from 30 last gen.

plus if you was able to pre order you could trade you Xbox one x or ps pro towards either of them for 200 dollars a piece and slash the cost.

and all the games on past gen consoles are on this one.

so yea I think it’s a decent enough upgrade, not to mention the price won’t drop no time soon, communities are split in 2(2k and madden) and can’t play with your friends. So it’s a reason for people to be looking for them. I myself can’t find them but i ain’t tripping. I wish I could find one before I play cyber punk but I don’t think I will.

plus I wanna see next gen on my cx

I played Miles Morales at my brother's house and its the same shyt as Spiderman on a pro. Just clean ass animations that shows the PS5s potential but not quite there yet. Hence my Madden 360 comparison a few posts back.

I think the desire for a new console can depend heavily on how long you've had your current setup.

Series X - I got this mainly because I haven't had an Xbox since the OG. Lots of catching up to do and it'll mostly be used for Ultimate Game Pass and games my wife would never play (sports mostly).

PS5 - Got this because a breh wanted to see the hype up close. PS4 library is huge with a lot of games I haven't played. Backwards compatibility made the choice easier. Had the 4 for quite awhile so .

As long as you can afford it and just want something different....go for it.

Having said that, I wouldn't recommend paying over retail to a scalper unless we are talking $50 or less (which wouldn't happen unless it was your boi or cousins).

People dropping $1,000 might be able to afford it without any issues but that's the shyt that keeps scalpers in biz and the bot game running.

U realize this is a marketing gimmick right? most games wont even hit 120 FPS at 4k on consoles. Its only "supports" it. Expect nothing more than 60 fps at 4k

This release of cyberpunk and how hard they’re trying to get it to work decently on last gen ps4 and Xbox’s’ kind of prove we were in major need of next gen already.

I remember larian also saying there’s no way they could have gotten Baldurs Gate 3 to work on the previous gen.

Not really. Even if it’s for upgrading past gen games it’s still a upgrade over current gen. Again halo mcc now runs at 120fps and like 1400p lol. The price of the consoles are coming down so it’s no real reason to wait at all.

My guess ks that some games will hit 120 at 2k but most will be 120fps at 1080p

That’s fine. Games couldn’t hit that last gen. And I’m 100% positive games will hit 4K 120 FPS
