seminoles is like having a team called da crips.
not a slur but depending on the history of the organization it might be construed as inappropriate, for example if they name the team the florida state nazis or klan etc.

They owned slaves. This is documented. The Cherokee owned the most. Seminoles also fought with the Confederacy. They, like pretty much all of the other tribes, refuse to acknowledge blacks in their history, and exclude them out of it. They're not commendable.
