R&B ain't never gonna die, you just gotta look a little harder
Bottom line, start paying for the R&B artists that keep it Neo-soul. Fans ain't paying for the shyt, so its not coming out.
It's the fans fault.
Do you nikkas even listen to music? 2016 has been a great year for RnB.
Anderson Paak, Tank, Gallant. Solange, Alicia Keys and Maxwell all drop great albums and thats just better known artistes off the top of my head.
It does lol. DRAM's music makes me feel happy, Drake's makes me feel sad/hyped/ambitious, Young Thug's music makes me want to speak in tongues for no reason, 21 savage's music makes me want to throw money in someone's face, Lil Yachy's music makes me feel like doing crazy shyt, Uzi Vert's makes me want to walk around in pajamas and say "she wanna smoke my dope, YEAH!"
I think music became too diverse for you guys too quickly. @Giselle thinks that because 5 of her friends hate music that it means that the whole generation does also.
You guys are funny![]()
In the internet age, people making nothing mothafukkas like Uzi Vert and Yachty pop off so hard, they dont NEED majors. It is also radio and tv's fault. How is anyone supposed to know about it if it doesn't get promoted?
Am I to believe that all the old and new Neo Soul artists are wack/inept at social media? Fact is, customers are paying for turn-up music. Its the customers fault. In the internet age, people making nothing mothafukkas like Uzi Vert and Yachty pop off so hard, they dont NEED majors.

The radio and TV don't play what won't get them paid. How do they get paid? Us. People out here stacking money without ever having a major deal or real TV exposure, then suddenly
we got a Sprite commercial with Lebron, with Lil Yatchy playing. Again, its the customers fault.
Sugar, I know the radio, as them fukkshyts got my favorite radio show canned bout 5 years agoHoney, you have the radio all wrong. There is a monopoly on today's radio. All of the popular stations of each genre are owned by clear chanel aka iHeart radio. Labels and other people have to pay iheart to play their music on the radio. It doesn't matter what the public wants.
Trap/trash rap is the only genre able to get popular through the internet like that. It is popular rn. A party "turn up" song, easy to listen to and makes people dance. Usually about fcking, clubs and other garbage. That doesn't happen for other genres. Ex. Neo soul, r&b, rap that's not trap. Songs that talk about love and other things outside of the typical trap garbage. Rock/pop rock doesn't even get much mainstream play like it used to. Neither does country. Some of them try to add trap to their music to get play. Everything is screwed.
They wanted to go "younger" and the rotations got more stale, as well as that
I have absolutely no reason to believe these Neo soul and RnB dudes couldn't get a neat little following withoutSugar, I know the radio, as them fukkshyts got my favorite radio show canned bout 5 years agoThey wanted to go "younger" and the rotations got more stale, as well as that
wack mawfukka they replaced my man.
In any case, people are popping solely off the internet, so much so that internet celebrity isn't a thing to laugh at anymore. I saw a 17 year old gay dude on a covergirl commercial the other day.
FIRST dude on covergirl. How? He blew up on social media doing makeupI have absolutely no reason to believe these Neo soul and RnB dudes couldn't get a neat little following without
trap rapping, but are the customers gonna pay? Just like when MP3s made the CD/cassette market eat a dikk, even moreso when customers were able to just buy the songs they want rather
than a whole album of wack shyt to get heat, customer tastes change the market. Music ain't making the money it once was, hence all the crossbranding and folks relying on tours and merchandise
to live, but that only goes so far if your fanbase has dried up in favor of dancing to mumbling dudes wearing barrettes and doing feminine dances.
Real talk right hereI'm not religious but the lack of church going has hurt vocalist, all the great singers honed their craft in the church
