"He should be playing center because he played center in college" is a terrible argument. The dude is a pf. Everything he does screams PF. His game is more Bosh(raptor style) than Shaq (bully ball). PF is his spot. He's played there his entire pro career.

Prime KG is the best all-around PF. Needless to say, he didn't have that clutch gene in him. KG in his younger days provided great contribution in 3 and half quarters, then hide in his foxhole in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter. Chuck used to bashed KG for failing to take over a game when the pressure is on. In addition, we should never forget that KG didn't like playing in the low block. He has the post skills but doesn't use his fundamental skills when it matter most. You can't place KG over Dirk, Barkley, Duncan, and Malone when these guys have proven that they can carry a team and step up as The Man to close out games, those are the attribute that KG has lack in his career.

Always felt KG was better player than duncan and still stand to that beleif. Duncan has aged better and been better in recent years, but I feel KG was a better talent and player in their primes. Duncan Jsut benefited from having arguably the GOAT coach and hall of fame worthy players all his career, Robinson, Ginobli, Parker. We all know KG only had one year with a quality team in his prime and with some help we saw what he was capable of. Also KG has a unlikeable personality for most so its easier to discredit him and give more credit to other Pf's.

Lets put it this way....KG is more talented but Duncan is the better player. Duncan reminds me of that dude at the park who is fundamentally sound and nothing about him screams wow but the nikka stay on the court cuz his team always wins. In a good way he leads from behind and lets his teammates get theirs cuz not to long ago Parker, Gino, and Kawhi were role players that weren't expected to do much and look at them

I gotta co-sign this as well. it's been too many times when KG was in his prime, when he'd shrivel up come the 4th quarter. even on that 04 team, he'd regularly defer to spree and sam in the 4th. and on boston, there was RARELY a time when dude was calling for the ball in the 4th. usually it was PP or ray taking the big shot.

The only argument with merit is the coaching argument. KG had talent in Minny and most certainly had talent (as well as coaching) in Boston. Duncan has no personality :heh:. Intensity (fake or not) will get you way more love than being understated. A big man who can't/won't go to work on the block when you need it? :camby:

yyyyooooo:russ:...can the mods sticky this with something like "this is how to make a perfect shock / troll thread"

It has everything you need...

Outlandish thread title...

The "he a center playing power forward it isn't fair argument"

The words "stacked spurs team"

Borderline GOAT shock / troll thread...

Irrational logic to somehow fit KG in as being underrated

Every heat and kobe stan need to study this thread...this is the blueprint right here...this is how you do it...

Kg never had the talent around him that tim duncan had. Boston was past his prime years and he was still able to win a championship.

So you're saying Tim Duncan style of play is the same as Chris Bosh? :dead:

KG only had talent one year in Minny, that was with Sprewell and Cassell, both of them were nearing :flabbynsick:

He made it all the way to the Conference finals and likely would have gotten to the finals if not for Cassell's injury. I've never seen a player get shyt on so unfairly as KG.

The talent was actually more comparable than you are giving it credit for. Dude had Marbury, Billups, Scerbiak, Terrel Brandon all 15+ ppg scorers in addition to Latrell and Cassell who you mentioned. KG was more talented and athletic but his inability/refusal to do work in the post as well as his :hamster: moments late in games and the fact that he was an elite rim protector from jump give Duncan the edge as a player not rings.

Rookie year marbury , billups who was a journey man until he became decent in Detroit. Terell forgetable brandon. Stop going off of names and think about the context of players. Thats like me saying well T duncan had Tmac on his team, when we know he is not the t mac you think off when you say his name.
