its stupid just because he's black he's only allowed to give it to like 5 colleges.

the mismanagement of money at HBCU's is a fukkin epidemic. let this nikka give 70m to an HBCU. 2 months later you'd see the dean with a new house, a bently, then kick down all the students a pirated copy of the instrumental version of chronic 2001 n try to call it fair.

I'm not saying its true at all, it could be bullshyt but on the flipside what would make it this claim outlandish? People getting f*cked in the music industry is pretty fukking common since day one breh. You acting like its on par with aliens hiding out in Roswell New Mexico or some shyt. I'm sure Dre is papered up but at the same time I we don't know the fine print in his paperwork with Interscope either or some behind the scenes shyt as well.

i'm saying, what type of slave deal would have dre still owing Jimmy hundreds of millions of dollars....after putting out Em,50,Game,Kendrick and his own albums?

Beats Electronics is pulling in crazy money, from headphones, cellphones, laptops etc....just got 60 M's for a streaming music service...... How could Dre get majorly fukked over 3 different times?

Rather see kids who have a very limited chance of 'making it' get a little help, then kids who have almost every chance get a lot of help. You make a good point though. But, ultimately I'd rather see kids in poor areas get enough to eat and have a safe place to learn, then the next Zuckerberg or whatever.

how much money did you give to africa today? 5 dollars can feed a family of 4 for a week.

you can always find someone who needs it more.

since when did it become OK for a grown man to tell another nikka what to do with his money? dre coulda donated 70m to the KKK i woulda been like thats fukked up on the inside but shyt its his money im sure he has his reasons and its not my place to comment.

This whole 'I can't tell a gown man what to do with his money' is nonsense, and very close-minded, he's a public figure, we anayzie his decisions and whatever else we want, the same way we do albums. I'm an adult so of course I know I don't have the authority to tell another man what to do with his money, but I do have the ability and right to have an opinion. We are all doing it all today, what kind of strawman argument would it be for me say 'How are you going to tell another grown man what he can or can't say about Dr Dre'? It's ludicrous. This whole 'not my place to comment', you are in wrong fukking place then. That's all we do all day here. What are you qualified to speak on? Can you imagine how many everyday conversations would be cut short with your bullshyt, "not my place to comment'?

Don't know where Africa came into play, I suppose it's about the connivence, if I could cut a check or shoot someone a $100 right now, and it could feed however many families for whatever, I would do it right away. I don't know why thats relevant.

you do realize that Zuckerberg has given over a half billion dollars to the types of things you say Dre should've put his money to?

Perhaps my thinking is shortsighted....in my version, the kids get the money now, my worldview is short term sometimes, I don't really give a fukk what happens years down the line, I just want someone to have food if they are hungry, and a decent shot at a better life and education. But, point taken.

actually i wasnt talking about you with the "not my place to comment" i was referring to the university president complaining about where dre chose to donate his money. we're nobodies on a message board. he has a public image. theres a difference. his article was tasteless.

africa came into play because they need it more than your local middle school needs a school band. you can play the "but someone else needs it more" game all day. he donated the money to a worthy cause, end of story.

USC's current staff probably knows how to structure and invest the donation better than other schools when it comes to entertainment. Their consultants may be more knowledgable about who to hire and things like that. Entertainment and business are two things that campus is known for. If Dre gonna drop $70 million, he should want the best possible results.

It makes sense logically if you think about USC, the area, and why they would go that route.

The school has the best facilities in the area.

They are putting up tons of student housing in the area to meet up with the number of students who do want to go there.

USC is the most visible school.

So if hes shooting for a successful program why not have it in an ever improving area, well funded, in nice facilities, in the heart of LA, at the most visible college in the area?

The LA Times should be worrying about who is going to purchase the paper not where Dre is donating his money.
