Why was 'Bridging the Gap' hated on when it dropped?

I detect sarcasm. You know what song I liked a lot on SD? The joint at the end over the run dmc beat.

You like my style or whatever it was called.

For what reason possibly would I be being sarcastic?

I am really surprised that you didn't like this track

It wasn't trash, but it had a real After School Special feel to it. Liked the concept of joining generations with Nas and Olu, but they've made better songs together. Life's A bytch :blessed: Dance :obama:

It was scratching an itch no one had, and it wasn't good enough to make people feel it was something they wanted but didn't know it.

It's a decent song just not mindblowing.

This sums it up....

Plus Hip Hop is primarily marketed towards a young audience. I'm a huge NaS fan but it's just not something I would have been bumping in 2004 when it dropped. I was in college. T.I's Bring em out came out during the same time (to give you perspective)
