its about to pass the avengers for 3rd on the highest grossing movies of all time why has it been so HUGE worldwide? did paul walker's death really elevate it THAT much?its outperformed age of ultron and it might do the same to star wars

the fast & furious franchise has always been pretty big but furious 7 was some next level shyt

It's a combination of things: One, the franchise was making more money with each installment.4<5<6..that's kinda unheard of for any franchise so the 7th was bound to be a huge hit.

Then there's the added factor of Paul's death and people wanting to see his swan song and of course how they'd pull it off.

Then there's the international flavor. These movies do really really well overseas and when you add Jason Statham to the mix, that makes them an ever bigger draw internationally.

Plus just good word of mouth. The series has come a long way in terms of fan appreciation and endeared itself to a worldwide audience. People see them for a good time and just love the characters at this point.
