1. Chinas box office has exploded. It made more money on its first day in china then 6 did its entire run. 400 million in box office from china alone.

2. It was released in 3D in international markets a first for the franchise. 3d adds significant $ to box office take, just ask Disney.

3. Paul walkers death.


4. If you take out the 3rd film since it was pretty much a spin off and had none of the other actors every single film has made more money than the last.

the first film was a low key street racing cop drama. its crazy how over the top these newer movies have been

7 seemed a bit too farcical and comic book influenced for my liking I mean that cringey scene with diesel/Statham where he says "street always wins" and proceeds to stomp the concrete causing Statham to fall under rubble was very hulk smash like. Personally I thought 7 was the weakest of the new FF. 6 being the best

Plus just ignoring the fact that the series continued to become more popular each time out, the explosion of the international box office and how these last three films in the series are engineered to perform well overseas. To say "well paul walker died" and leave it at that is reductive as hell
