I dunno how Dalton & Palmer situations are comparable since Arians never coached Dalton.
I never discredited Jackson's offensive mind nor his developmental talents, but Arians is doing more with Palmer than Hue ever did. That's just a fact. Hue is also doing a great job with Dalton, that's also a fact.
However, let's all be real here, X's & O's savants who don't know how to handle & manage the players & media are best left at coordinator. No one will ever heap praise on Herm Edwards' football acumen, but he was a decent manager of men & carved out a decent little 7 year HC career because he could shmooze the media & to his credit, had a knack for rallying his guys. Same is usually said about Joe Torre, not the best at strategy, but no one was gonna "manage" those Yankee clubhouses like he did, and for it, chiseled out a dynasty from a dead franchise.
Yes, Jackson deserves another chance... but he's gonna have to learn to be way more media savvy or it'll just be rinse & repeat.
I highlighted Andy Dalton as a way of promoting Jackson. He's turning a guy people dont take serious into an MVP candidate. Thats impressive.
Breh you cant have an honest assessment of what Hue could or couldnt do with Palmer in 10 games. Especially when he was TRADED there. No off season, no time to develop a rapport, etc etc.
This isnt to say Hue would have had him as good as he is now. But lets remember what Palmer looked like with Arians when he first got there. Remember he has better weapons as well.
2011 (10 games)

2013
Palmer 24 tds 22 ints

Why wasnt Palmer automatically great with the Cardinals? It takes time getting use to the system
