except this isn't true. ali would've been doing little boxing exhibitions and pr appearances. they would've used him as a recruiting tool in the Black community.

But that’s how they did all the big athletes so you’d need to present actual evidence to the contrary. Even during WWII they didn’t send negro league players to actually fight. They were given recreational roles to entertain the troops. Same with the white MLB players. Ali would have been given the same role.


It has nothing to do with liking or disliking him. The military understood Ali entertaining troops and promoting the war to black people would be ten times more valuable than sending him to die.
