Why wasn't Japan colonized?

Didn’t watch the video but it’s interesting how the countries with fairer skinned people are better off economically.
When we look at Africa, South America, India etc.
Why’s that? The introduction of bullet powder and the colonization of countries?

Eastern Europe is a big exception
Japanese (Yayoi) are the colonizers Japan belonged to the Andaman (them and Ainu they absorbed which is why to this day if you go to Japan you'll randomly see a full blooded Japanese looking African as hell)

- Japan was a colonizer itself
- They were very far away where it would be a lot of work
- They didn't have any special resources for it to be worth it
- Also talks about Portuguese Evangelicals trying to spread over Japan, which first they were okay with but stopped after how Portuguese was in slave trade using Japanese people, they decided to get rid of Evangelicals then and saw any as a threat
