wtf r u talking about? GRODT sold 14+mil alone, you just made up random numbers smh
Those are from RIAA/Billboard, not 50 cents scratch book.

www.billboard.com
www.riaa.com

I can say College Dropout did 10 million, now prove that it didn't :childplease:
MBDTF did 4.6 million in China and Japan alone, Kanye is huge in China, he used to live there as a kid :camby:

small brains will say it makes no sense
but it makes perfect sense

Think of this
I'm in IT
DELL buys business all the time, where they are in negative margins to win business
This is called buying business with the purpose of marketing and market share even if the market share is an illusion people will buy it

This happens and not only in the music industry

To say why would they use their money to buy their own albums is like saying why would they use their own money for marketing... advertising and TV spots

Except with gaining market share you now have that client in the pipeline for future products and complimentary services.

Its not quite the same concept since record labels do not have the addresses of customers

Go head and list those albums/labels then:sas2:

Bad Boy did it with Puff Daddy's No Way Out. It sold close to 6 million copies, but has a 7X platinum certification. La Face did it with Monica twice. The Boy Is Mine and Miss Thang both have 3X Platinum certifications, but only sold 1.5 million copies a piece. There's more examples than that, but those are off the top of my head.
